The book is well known because of its timeless principles on wealth creation in a simple story telling. These laws have passed the test of the time and stood by the Lindy Effect. It’s a short read which explain the time tested laws by means of stories. The main key points of the books are as below:

PART 1 How to create wealth

The five laws of gold or a Way to cure of the Lean Purse

  1. Gold cometh gladly and increasing quantity to nay man who will put by not less than 1/10th of his earnings to create an estate for his fortune and that of his family. Any man who will put by one-tenth of his earnings consistently and invest it wisely will surely create a valuable estate that will provide an income for him in the future and further guarantee safety for his family in case the gods call him to the world of darkness.
  2. Gold laborth diligently and contently for the wise owner who finds for its profitable employment multiplying even as the flocks of the filed. Gold, indeed, is a willing worker. It is ever eager to multiply when opportunity presents itself.

3.   Gold clingeth to the protection of the cautious owner who invests it under the advice of men wise in his holdings. Wealth remains protected with the person who is cautious and invests it back on basis of advice of wise men.

4.   Gold slippeth away from the man who invests it is business or purpose with which he   is not familiar or which are not approved by those skilled in its keep.

5.   Gold flees the man who would force it to impossible earnings or who follow the alluring advice of trickster and schemer or who trusts it to his own inexperience and romantic desire in investment. Author put emphasis of the fact of not falling into the trap of exorbitant returns, always have reasonable, small and safe returns

  1. Learn to live upon less than you can earn.
