description of Book: - Ancient Philosophy of Overcoming Obstacles
What this book is
about: - Book is compilation of old age proven philosophies of handling obstacles
and how to overcome them. Book contains details how stalwarts like Thomas
Jefferson, Marcus Aurelius, John D Rockefeller, Ulysses S Grant etc. overcome
obstacles in their life. Author states that first thing that matters in
handling obstacles is perception, which may be an opportunity for someone and
crisis for someone and how it is different from observation is explained
beautifully in this book. Managing
emotions in case of crisis or panic is very much essential as losing nerves in
case of crisis does not add value to situation. The importance of changing your
perspective in case of repeated failures and how sometimes small tweaks can
change the whole situation drastically has been described beautifully with
example of George Clooney. The importance of analysing the current situation
and taking maximum benefit of it is beautifully explained by means of various
companies/businesses that started during various economic crisis or depressions.
In the second section of the book,
author explained the importance of action to overcome problems or obstacles. In
this section, author described importance of keep moving, persistence, regular iteration,
channelization of energy and doing your job in right manner in detail. Last portion
of the book relates to the will and building our inner strength to keep on working.
