What this book is about: - Book is in circulation since 1936 and
still it is one of the best book on dealing people and understanding behavior of
people. Book provides the basic theory that everyone wants to be listened, recognized,
praised and feel important. Author has given numerous examples to highlight
this basic theory. Author explained through numerous examples how sales peoples,
job seekers, teachers and many more succeeded in their jobs by putting the
perspective of customer/company first. One example was letter written by
Barbara Anderson to twelve banks for job interview. Surprisingly, she received call
from eleven out of twelve banks for interview. Author explained how criticizing can have
drastic impact on students/children/employees. Before criticizing someone,
author advised to read a letter named “Father Forgets” originally published as
editorial in People’s Home journal. Author explained the importance of
remembering names of people we met in day to day life and explained how this
had proved beneficial to lots of politicians during their election campaigns. Franklin
D Roosevelt had this uncanny ability of remembering names of people he meet and
this ability had helped him a lot in his political career..
